Privacy policy.

This policy explains what personal information this website collects, why, and what your rights are. In short: I only collect what I need to reply to enquiries and, if you agree, to see which projects people look at. I never sell your data or use it for advertising.

Who I am

This website belongs to Nawaz Alamgir, a freelance motion designer and art director based in London, UK. I am the data controller for information collected here. You can contact me about anything in this policy at hello@nawazalamgir.com.

When you send me a message

If you use the contact form, I receive your name, email address, the type of project and your message. The form is delivered by Web3Forms, a form-handling service that passes your message on to my email inbox. If you email me directly, I receive your email address and whatever you include.

I use this only to reply to you and to discuss and deliver any work. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in responding to enquiries, or taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.

Analytics and cookies

With your permission, this site uses Google Analytics to understand how it is used: which pages and projects are viewed, roughly where visitors are (country or city), the type of device and browser, and how people found the site. This uses cookies named _ga and _ga_C3K4Z3HGQP, which last up to two years.

These cookies are only set if you click Accept on the cookie banner. If you click Reject, no analytics cookies are stored; Google may still receive basic, cookieless signals (for example, that a page was viewed) without any identifier that could recognise you. You can change your choice at any time using Cookie settings, which is also in the footer of every page.

Your choice itself is remembered in your browser's local storage (as na-consent). This is necessary for the banner to work and contains no personal information.

Other services this site uses

• Embedded videos from YouTube (in privacy-enhanced mode) and Vimeo (with "do not track" switched on). If you play a video, YouTube or Vimeo will receive your IP address and device details under their own privacy policies.
• Animation code libraries on the home page are loaded from cdnjs (Cloudflare), which receives your IP address in order to deliver the files to your browser. Fonts are hosted on this site, so no font service is involved.
• Web hosting. Like all websites, my hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security and to keep the site running.

Some of these providers are based outside the UK, including in the United States. Where your data is transferred abroad, it is protected by appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

How long I keep information

Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted within two years. Records relating to paid work are kept for six years, as required for UK tax purposes. Google Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask for a copy of the information I hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how it is used, and to withdraw consent at any time. To do any of this, email hello@nawazalamgir.com. I will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how your information has been handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date at the top.
